Pacific House is an alteration and addition to an existing 1990’s concrete framed cliffside dwelling, now transformed into a materially rich and performative five-bedroom family home.
The design vernacular is inspired by the practicalities of family life and the ocean adjacency. Instilling new life into the substantial structure included a fundamental reorientation and bifurcation of the plan – the kitchen and garden with a pool for meals, swimming and play while the other side speaks to the adults and the contemplation of ocean views.
The house is a combination of contemporary and neo-classicism but retains its youthfulness. P&O inspired curvatures and facades are white and textural while the natural landscape forms the foundations of material storytelling. The building is brought to life as a highly finished home which considers its view and its garden with equal care.
