We have submitted planning documents for the Isle of Wight Hotel on Phillip Island VIC, marking a pivotal moment in the civic renewal of the town centre.
The 8600 sqm waterfront site development, led by Moda and CLG, encompasses a retail precinct, wellness centre, event space, key worker accommodation, F&B facilities and a signature restaurant, alongside 160 hotel rooms.
Positioned at the historical junction of The Esplanade and Bass Avenue, the project aims to revive the iconic Isle of Wight Hotel, echoing the nostalgia of the original landmark while infusing new energy for a contemporary generation.
The design aligns with the Bass Coast Design Development Overlay, enhancing pedestrian connections and honouring Phillip Island's maritime history.
"Our aim is to provide for both the public architecture of the site’s old maritime history and a contemporary hotel which is reverential to the beautiful quality of the coastal edge of Phillip Island."
